About
The mission of the Aesthetics Program is to prepare the student for a career in the skin care and beauty industry. Estheticians, or skin care specialists, perform skin care and cosmetic treatments, including cleansing treatments, waxing, massage, facials, and makeup selection and application. An esthetician helps people look their best through the application of various techniques to the epidermal layer (skin) of the human body to assist in maintaining vitality, improve overall appearance, and combat the effects of sun exposure and aging. The practice of esthetics may include but not limited to steaming, extraction, chemical peels, and pore cleansing.
