Admissions

How to Apply

  1. Pick a program of study
  2. Download and complete the TCAT Application for Enrollment
    1. Some programs of study require additional application documents. Download, complete and submit any required documents listed under the programs of study below
  3. Contact your physician and obtain your proof of vaccination letter
    1. Applicants born on or after Jan. 1, 1957, must submit proof of MMR (mumps, measles, rubella) vaccination
    2. Applicants born on or after Jan. 1, 1980, must submit proof of varicella (chicken pox) vaccination
  4. Submit your application, program-specific application materials (if required), and vaccination letter to the Student Services Office at the address listed below

  5. Request official transcripts of education from high school, high-school equivalency or other colleges and universities
    1. High school transcripts are available from your high school's counseling office

    2. College and University transcripts are available at the insitutiton's records office

    3. Official GED and HiSET requests can be obtained at https://www.diplomasender.com for the following states: Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wyoming

    4. If you have foreign transcripts you will need to provide an English translated version of your transcript and have your education evaluated through the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). The website for NACES can be found at: www.naces.org. We will need the English translated version of your transcripts to complete admissions requirements

  6. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online, if applying for financial aid (this is required for TN Promise scholarship and the Wilder Naifeh grant)

General Admission Requirements

  • Program enrollment is based on a first-come, first-served basis by date of completed application. (A completed application includes all items required for enrollment.)
  • Persons seeking admission to a college must be at least 18 years of age or have a high school diploma or equivalent. For full-time programs, the applicant must declare an occupational objective and demonstrate reasonable potential for achieving that objective.
  • All persons who are required to register for the Federal Draft under 50 U.S.C. App. Section 453 are not eligible to enroll in any post-secondary school until they have registered with selective service.

Residential/Commercial Wiring and Plumbing

Adult admission is limited to approved graduates of the Lawrence County School System in May of the same year with immediate enrollment required by the Fall Trimester.

Welding (South Lawrence Instructional Service Center)

Adult admission is limited to approved graduates of the Lawrence Country School System in May of the same year with immediate enrollment required by the Fall trimester.

Practical Nursing-Evening

Prospective applicants should complete the following steps:

Complete and return application to TCAT-Pulaski. Application packets are available on campus or you can complete an online application. If you choose to do your application online, you will still need to complete more paperwork here on campus. ACT scores or entrance exam scores are also due when turning in your packet.

Paperwork and information needed:

  • Signed Release of Information
  • Copy of High School Diploma/GED or Transcript
  • Copy of Medical Insurance
  • Copy of Valid Driver’s License
  • 3 Letters of Recommendation
  • Proof of Experience(s)
  • Proof of Military Experience
  • Proof of Post Secondary Training or Degree

Schedule HESI entrance exam and pay fee as soon as possible or submit acceptable ACT score of 19 in reading and 19 in math. 

Attend mandatory information session on May 24, 2017, 9:00 – 12:00. This session will include other deadline dates for information.

Health Science Practical Nursing

Attendance at an information session is the first step in the application process for the program, and applicants will receive all the information necessary to apply for the program at the session. The sessions will last approximately one hour.

Prospective applicants should complete the following steps:

Complete and return application by January 17, 2017

Industrial Maintenance Technology-Evening Program

Residential Construction Technology

Adult admission is limited to approved graduates of the Lawrence Country School System in May of the same year with immediate enrollment required by the Fall trimester.

Advanced Manufacturing Education

Practical Nursing

Prospective applicants should complete the following steps:

Complete and return application to TCAT-Pulaski.  Application packets are available on campus or you can complete an online application. If you choose the online app, you still need to come in the office for additional paperwork. ACT scores or Entrance exam scores are to be included in the packet.

Schedule entrance exam and pay fee as soon as possible or submit acceptable ACT score of 19 in reading and 19 in math. 

Attend mandatory information session on May 24, 2017; 9:00 – 12:00. At this session, you will be given additional deadline dates. You must provide the following:

  • Signed Release of Information
  • Copy of High School Diploma/GED or Transcript
  • Copy of Valid Driver’s License
  • 3 Letters of Recommendation
  • Proof of Military Experience(s)
  • Proof of Post Secondary Training or Degree

 

Pharmacy Technician

For entrance into the Pharmacy Technician program, a student must have a high school or GED/HiSET diploma, pass the HESI exam and a satisfactory physical exam with all required immunizations. Students in the program are subject to drug testing and background screening.
