About

The mission of the Manicuring Program is to prepare the student for a career in the nail care and beauty field. Training includes all types of nail care, various types of nails, and nail techniques in three areas: General – 150 clock hours - Sterilization, sanitation and bacteriology, anatomy and physiology, state law, salon management, and ethics. Chemical – 100 clock hours – Product knowledge, ingredients and usage of materials, manicuring and pedicuring, EPA and OSHA requirements. Physical - 350 clock hours - Massage, manicuring, pedicuring, nail care, nail artistry, nail wraps, sculptured nails, nail tips, gel nails, and nail safety. Manicurists may work in salons or work independently within their own business.
