Required Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) years of experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications such as Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
- Technical Diploma or higher in Welding or equivalent
- Prior teaching experience
Responsibilities
Instruction in modern welding techniques, shop safety, job success, metallurgy, blueprint reading, welding symbols, fitting, and fabrication
Provide theory and hands-on skills instruction in areas including, but not limited to: Gas Metal Arc Welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Flux Core Arc Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, oxy-fuel cutting, and plasma arc cutting
Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual students’ performance and progress; maintain appropriate records; prepare and submit timely reports

Skills
Working knowledge of all aspects of the Welding industry
Possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to interact effectively with both adult and high school CTE students as well as faculty, staff, the public, and business/industry representatives
Must be willing to learn and use classroom management best practices and individualized instructional techniques
Willingness to remain current in the field
Evidence of potential teaching ability
Must possess the computer skills necessary to be an effective instructor
