About
Pharmacy Technology Program's mission is to train students to work in retail & wholesale pharmacies, home health care & long term care facilities. Graduates will perform as pharmacy technicians under the pharmacist's supervision. Students become skilled in medications, prescription preparation, reconstitution & IV preparation. They learn to establish & maintain patient profiles, packaging & equipment, and perform administrative, communication, and inventory control duties. Clinical training is provided in all work environments. Upon completion, students will take the Pharmacy Technology Certification Examination (PTCE). Students receive hands-on experience using PioneerRx, a leading pharmacy software system. More information is available at https://www.pioneerrx.com. You must have a high school or GED/HiSET diploma, pass the Career Readiness & a satisfactory physical exam with all required immunizations. Students in this program are subject to drug testing and background screening.

Job Duties
Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. May measure, mix, count out, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders.
